Option C - Ready-to-sail (meets requirements)
Summary
- Shortest time-to-use if you can find the right boat.
- Usually the highest upfront price, but often lowest schedule risk.
Deal-killers (fast rejection tests)
- Draft/beam/clearance outside bounds.
- Interior height not workable (especially salon/companionways).
- Cannot accommodate king suite + required heads/showers without major rebuild.
- Insufficient electrical generation/storage to support your galley + HVAC + compute goals.
What "ready-to-sail" should mean here
- All critical systems operational: propulsion, steering, rigging, nav, comms.
- Safety equipment present and serviceable.
- Tankage usable; heads and showers functional.
- Known maintenance history; survey acceptable for insurance.
